Ammonium chloride or ammonium chloride is an inorganic compound with the formula NH4Cl, it is a white crystalline salt highly soluble in water. Ammonium chloride solutions are slightly acidic. In its naturally occurring mineralogical form, it is known as ammoniacal salt. It can be used as a food additive, functioning as a yeast nutrient in baking, and as an acidifier. It is a food supplement for cattle as an alternative to urea.
